Dude kills his wife and jumps off the 3rd floor roof of where he lives, successfully completing the murder/ suicide.
It seems to me jumping from 3rd floor roof ( maybe 35 feet), is a feeble suicide attempt. I'd guess most folks survive that fall with broken bones and painful injuries. I saw a guy fall about 4 stories at a construction site, he lived, don't know details of result, not with the company I worked for at the time.
If you gonna do it, do it right ! 3-stories sounds like just enough to put you in a wheelchair. Go on a balloon ride and jump from the thingee at 2,000 feet or whatever, if that's your aim.
If I wanted to end my life, and decided to jump, 35 feet ain't the distance !
